HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation 

This course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out emergency life savings procedures in the first few minutes following a life threatening incident.

 

The first aid practises taught in this course are based on current policy statements from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).

COURSE CONTENT

 

  • Introduction to first aid principles

  • Assessing a cardiac emergency situation

  • Airway and breathing management

  • Performing chest compressions

  • Administering rescue breaths

  • Infection control procedures

  • Resuscitation techniques

  • Using a defibrillator (AED)

  • AED maintenance

TIME ALLOCATION & FEES

 

Time allocation: Approximately 2-3 hours, depending on group size.

 

Course fees: Based on number of participants. Please ask about our group discounts.

 

* Note that the minimum age requirement for completion of a CPR certificate is 12 years.

 

 

ACCREDITATION

 

On successful completion of the training and assessment, participants will obtain a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment in the following unit of competence:

Accredited training and assessment will be conducted by Real Life Training under the responsibility and direction of LivCor, 3586. All Students will be enrolled with LivCor, which will be responsible for the quality of training and assessment provided and for the issuing of Statements of Attainment for the units of competency on its scope.
